2007 Crosstoberfest Was A Hit!

The second annual Crosstoberfest at St. Edward State Park drew over 300 wild and crazy racers. The first couple of races started off in drizzling rain, making for a cyclocross "slip n'slide" and the enormous Category 4 fields contributed to the excitement. After the weather cleared, the excitement started back up with some angry hornets that kept some racers clipping along at a mighty pace. The day ended with the largest number of elite racers in Crosstoberfest and Tour de Tunnel history, turning out nearly 50 Cat 1/2 riders in all.

Joining in the fun was Danish National Champion Joachim Parbo, who earned his first U.S. win this season. He rewarded himself by spending some quality time in the New Belgium Beer Garden.

The relay race was very entertaining turning out some really cute firefighters, a "Hooters" boy, and some aging muffin tops. Joachim described the participants as "silly dressed relay racers getting adequately stupid" and added that it was "a nice buzz". We think so too.
